Ange Postecoglou is fighting to keep Harry Kane at Tottenham.
Fabrizio Romano, who provided an update on the striker on the Here We Go Podcast, claims as much.Obviously, Kane has been linked with a transfer away from Tottenham in recent weeks, and according to Romano, Postecoglou is working hard to keep the ‘underrated’ striker at Spurs with some straight conversations at Hotspur Way.
Postecoglou is trying
Romano revealed what he is aware of Kane.
“We can vouch for what Bild said. For Harry Kane, there was a significant communication between Bayern and Tottenham. This is significant because Bayern is making every effort. Tottenham has made it abundantly clear that they intend to offer Harry Kane a new contract and that they will battle to keep him with the team. Bayern are still attempting to persuade the player, according to Ange Postecoglou, who is speaking to him face-to-face at the practice field, according to Romano.
Uphill task
Although Ange Postecoglou is making every effort to keep Harry Kane with Spurs, he may have an uphill battle on his hands.
Let’s face it, Postecoglou won’t be able to tell Kane any information that he hasn’t already heard.
Kane will have previously had similar discussions with Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Antonio Conte about how things are changing at Tottenham and how the striker can win trophies with Spurs, but each time he has been left down.
Kane’s thoughts are obviously private, but it’s reasonable to conclude that at the very least, he is considering leaving the club.
If Postecoglou wants to keep the England captain at the club in the long run, he will need to come up with something very persuasive.
