Harry Kane uncertainties: Tottenham eye move for a “Seria A” striker
Tottenham Hotspur are already looking at replacements for Harry Kane and they have earmarked Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as one of their main targets, as per Foot Mercato.
Given that he only has one year left on his contract, Kane has been linked to moves outside of North London. Any Premier League club will have to spend more than £100 million to sign him, deterring teams like Manchester United from making a move.
The German powerhouse Bayern Munich is suddenly showing a lot of interest in the English striker. Kane has made it quite obvious that he wants to join Bayern, where he can win titles, and the Germans have made two official bids, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Tottenham would require a world-class replacement player if they are forced to sell Kane this summer, and according to Foot Mercato, Vlahovic is “right at the top of their list.”
Last season, the Serbian superstar scored 17 goals in 41 league games for Juventus, but they may decide to sell him as they try to balance their budget. According to the source, Juventus has made contact with Tottenham’s management to discuss the possibility of selling Vlahovic.
According to the source, Juventus are open to doing business if a £60 million offer is made, and Tottenham have said they’ll be interested in signing Vlahovic if Kane left.
Tough ask
It will be important for Ange Postecoglou to recruit at least one new striker if Kane departs the team, and Vlahovic’s addition makes a lot of sense.
He is an excellent striker with a track record of scoring 20 or more goals in Serie A, and his signing would be wise. Although he has had difficulties at the Turin club, there is no denying his potential and quality.
Chelsea, who are also keeping an eye on him, might challenge Tottenham. Football London claims that the Blues have long admired the Serbian striker and may try to sign him this summer.
Spurs have already made some terrific acquisitions under Postecoglou, so it would be a major accomplishment if they could bring in Vlahovic. Any prospective trade for the Serb, though, is contingent on Kane leaving the team.
