‘Secret meeting’ on Thursday could ruin Leeds United signing plans – Need to hurry with offer

The idea that Leeds United could make a move for Alexander Nübel is picking up pace, despite the Whites now being in the Championship.

Daniel Farke’s team is up against competition from VfB Stuttgart in Germany, and it appears the Germans’ most recent move may put an end to whatever chance the Elland Road club had of luring the goalie.

Nübel has made it plain that he wants to leave Bayern Munich, and Leeds have shown interest. However, according to Florian Plettenberg, a’secret meeting’ between the goalkeeper and Stuttgart happened recently.

The player was ‘on site’ in the German town to meet Alexander Wehrle, Fabian Wohlgemuth, Sebastian Hoeneß, and Stefan Krebs, the goalkeeping coach for Stuttgart, according to the tweet he sent.

In addition, the club is ‘pushing for a loan with an option to buy’ and Nübel is the manager’s top choice to start in goal for the upcoming campaign.

Plettenberg continues by saying that although Bayern Munich has not received an official bid, Leeds United is “still in” the running to sign the German, therefore they must move quickly.

Even if Stuttgart now has’very excellent possibilities’ of obtaining its man, the Bavarian side would ‘prefer to sell’ on their end.
