Tottenham transfer target convinced of club’s project; transfer complicated due to rivals interest
When it comes to their intentions to recruit Ligue 1 defender Jean-Clair Todibo, Tottenham has been extremely open.
However, now that their competitors have entered the picture, closing a deal could prove difficult for the Premier League squad.
Time is their biggest barrier to signing Todibo. The Lilywhites are eager to close a deal as quickly as possible. However, OGC Nice has been holding out for more time since they are not thrilled about the prospect of losing their standout defender.
The other, and potentially deadlier, barrier is Manchester United and Chelsea. According to the French newspaper Footmercato, both of these teams are also vying for the French defense position. The 24 year player will soon be in the crosshairs of the Premier League giants.
Manchester United is the true threat, even though Chelsea might not be all that dangerous. Todibo has already stated that he would be delighted to join the Old Trafford team. The player is not likely to pick Tottenham over the Red Devils.
The fans won’t be too bothered about that, though. In January, the Lilywhites hope to sign a number of targets. In the event that Radu Dragusin is unable to replace Todibo, the organization has the option to pursue Giorgio Scalvini.
Tottenham will have little trouble finding talented players to sign in January. That does not, however, imply that the team will be successful in acquiring said talent. Hopefully, Spurs supporters won’t have a dismal first month in 2024.
Jean-Claire Todibo is a target for Tottenham Hotspur, but OGC Nice will attempt to make things difficult.
It’s a race for Todibo. As the scenario unfolds over the next few weeks, everyone on the planet will be watching closely. By the end of the transfer window, supporters want to see the Frenchman wearing a Tottenham shirt.
