‘My Role model’: AC Milan star fascinated by Tottenham ‘solid’ player style of play.
AC Milan’s new signing Marco Pellegrino has said that he tries to model his game around Tottenham centre-back Cristian Romero.
Romero joined Tottenham from Atalanta in the summer of 2021, and while his first season there was promising, the center-back suffered in the second half of the previous year, much like the rest of the Spurs team.
Despite his significant contribution to Argentina’s historic World Cup victory in November of last year, many have questioned whether he is a top-tier center defense due to his problems at club level (talkSPORT).

The 25-year-old expressed his desire to perform at his peak under Ange Postecoglou in an interview with The Athletic earlier this summer, admitting that he was unsatisfied with the caliber of his performances in the previous campaign.
Romero has certainly had a promising start to the new season alongside a new defensive partner in Micky van de Ven, and Spurs fans will be hoping that his performance against Manchester United is a sign of things to come.
Cristian Romero is already a role model to others
Pellegrino, a young Argentine defender who recently moved to Milan, described that Tottenham player as one of the greatest in the business.
The 21-year-old said to Milan TV (as quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb) after joining the Rossoneri: “My inspiration is Sergio Ramos, and right now I admire ‘El Cuti’ Romero. He is my total protector, and I do my best to follow him.
Romero’s role in Argentina’s World Cup victory makes it understandable why the country would idolize him.
Although the 25-year-old has the potential to develop into a world-class center defender, he is not currently the greatest in the world. He needs to run a few successful campaigns back to back to even be considered.
