Medical today: Leeds agree big-money fee to sell star player – journalist MOT Leeds News

Tyler Adams will undergo a medical with Bournemouth on Friday ahead of leaving Leeds United on a permanent basis, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

Writing on Twitter on Friday (18 August), Crook reported that a deal has been agreed between the Whites and the Premier League side.

Crook reported earlier this week (14 August) that Bournemouth matched Adams’ £20million release clause at Elland Road after Chelsea backed out of a deal to sign him.

Big blow

Adams going is a massive blow for Leeds because he was one of the club’s best players last season despite their relegation from the Premier League.

If he hadn’t been injured for most of the campaign then you would imagine that Leeds’ fate could have been different and all the turmoil going on right now wouldn’t be happening.

Adams would have been a big part of Daniel Farke’s squad this season too but it just isn’t to be, unfortunately.

One good thing is that Leeds should be getting a good amount of money to be invested into the squad at Elland Road.

So far this summer, incoming signings have been few and far between so this £20million boost from selling Adams should go towards landing a new left-back and hopefully a new striker.

Patrick Bamford’s injury issues are too much to take, Georginio Rutter is useless, Willy Gnonto wants out of Elland Road and the youngsters like Joe Gelhardt haven’t cut the mustard just yet, unfortunately.

Adams will also need replacing though.

Archie Gray, as good as he is for his age, isn’t a long-term solution so our central options are pretty desperate at the moment.

Farke has his work cut out.

It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks before the transfer window shuts.
