Report: Gent make decision on Gift Orban as Spurs keep contacts ‘warm’

De Morgen have stated that Gent are hesitant to sell Hugo Cuypers as they anticipate that his striker partner Gift Orban could leave amidst Tottenham’s interest.

Earlier this week, we relayed an update from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who said that Gent do not want to lose both Cuypers and Orban in the same window and are leaning towards cashing in on the latter.

This has now been backed up by De Morgen, who state that Cuypers has emerged as a target for Bologna, with the Italian side alleged to have made a €14m (£11.9m) offer for the centre-forward.

However, it is explained that the Belgian club are not expected to accept this bid as they are ‘mainly looking for developments’ around Orban.

Spurs are waiting before bidding for Gift Orban

The report adds that Tottenham are ‘convinced’ of the Nigerian’s qualities but the North London club first want to offload some of their unwanted players before making an approach for the 21-year-old.

The publication adds that Spurs have not yet made a decision to ‘go all in’ for Obran but they are keeping the contact ‘warm’ with Gent and the striker’s entourage so that they can complete the deal ‘quickly’ if they do decide to push ahead with a move.

This information ties in with the other reports we have seen over recent days which have indicated that Tottenham are now prioritising offloading players and trimming the size of their squad.

Let us hope we see the likes of Lloris, Ndombele, Reguilon and Tanganga head through the exit door over the coming days so that the club can push ahead with moves for their top targets.
