Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping their options open in the bid to bolster the backline, with manager Ange Postecoglou having seemingly identified a worthy alternative to Wolsburg’s Micky van de Ven.
The Lilywhites are reportedly interested in signing Van de Ven and fellow Bundesliga player Edmond Tapsoba in the hunt for a new defender for the center of the defense, where the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon, and Japhet Tangana all appear to be headed.
According to Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard, the north Londoners have now entered the competition for Chelsea’s teenager Levi Colwill, with Manchester City and Liverpool also reportedly showing interest.
The 20-year-old has been reluctant to sign a contract thus far because of potential worries about his playing time at Stamford Bridge, according to the report, even though the Blues have reportedly offered him a new long-term agreement.
Due to the defender’s successful loan with the Seagulls last season, Brighton and Hove Albion put in a £40 million bid early this summer. This could give Spurs the opportunity to pounce, albeit any deal is sure to cost more.
