Van de Ven’s injury may allow “Tottenham to complete two big January deals.”

Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider says that Spurs will only permit Eric Dier to depart if they are able to sign a “stand-in” player to replace the injured Dutchman.

Due to a hamstring injury, Micky van de Ven had to leave the match against Chelsea before halftime, and he will be out for some time.

Ange, who lacks defensive options at the back, has suffered a severe blow as a result.

Ben Davies has filled in as a temporary center back in Romero’s absence, and Eric Dier is currently their only backup center back.

Levy is reportedly keen to sell Dier in January rather than risk losing him on a free agent in the summer, but whether Spurs can acquire a suitable center-back in the upcoming transfer window will determine all of this.

According to Pete O’Rourke, the Spurs will try to sign a “stand-in for Van de Ven” before trying to “open the door to an exit” for Dier.

Postecoglou will have to stick with the England international for the remainder of the season if they are unable to locate such a player in the January transfer window.

Spurs’ January transfer window will be very important. Where they place in the league may depend on how well they do in the market.

Even though they had a great start to the season, their growing injury list has begun to ruin things.

They have now dropped their past two games, and their performance against Wolves was by no means strong.

According to Romano, Levy will be under pressure to perform in January even though Spurs won’t be making extravagant purchases.

Ben Davies is ecstatic about Joe Rodon’s performances so far this season at Leeds United.

When Rodon joined Tottenham in 2020, many considered him to be one of the best young defenders in English football, but he was never able to establish a regular spot in the starting lineup while he was in North London.

The Welshman, who had trouble getting into games in the second half of the season, also did not exactly light up the world while on loan at Rennes last season.

For the 26-year-old, though, things seem to be clicking at Elland Road as he has established himself as a vital member of Leeds’ backline.

Would Joe Rodon suit Ange-ball more than others?

Rodon’s success with Daniel Farke’s team this season is not surprising to Davies, who has played alongside him frequently for Wales.

The 29-year-old responded, via Football.London, to a question concerning his international teammate, saying, “It is difficult.” People sometimes underestimate how difficult it is to move every nine months to a new location after moving somewhere, but it seems like he’s settled down nicely in Leeds.

Joe is an excellent player. He is always very reliable, skilled with the ball, and I believe our communication is strong. I play with him for Wales every time. It really does cheer me to see him succeed at Leeds.

Since Joe is one of my closest football friends, we communicate frequently. He is the kind of player who is a really, really good defender and I believe he is displaying that right now when he is at a place where he feels valued and is having a good run of games.

Although some were taken aback by Rodon’s decision to move down to the Championship in the summer, Davies said it was the ideal chance for the defender to restart his career.

“He knew he was going to go there and play a lot of football and play at a massive club with ambitions of going back to the Premier League,” the left-back continued. “I think it was a great opportunity to go there.” He is having a great time there and has a great start.

It appears that Davies is hinting that Rodon is a confidence player who requires support from the manager and an arm around his shoulder in order to play at his peak. That may help to explain why he performs so well for Wales and why Spurs never gave him that kind of support.
