Tottenham star admits he is ‘not being able to sleep’
Son gave Spurs supporters a comforting update on his fitness by dispelling rumors that he might have a groin injury.
The South Korean international has emerged as a crucial player up front for Tottenham, taking on an even bigger role in the wake of Harry Kane’s departure.
Having already scored eight league goals in 12 games for Spurs this season, he is back to his best after a challenging season last year mostly due to injuries and bad form.
This comprises three goals—one each against Burnley, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
In response to questions regarding a potential injury, Son told Yonhap News Agency that small bumps, such as being kicked or stepped on, happen frequently during games.
Citing normal game-related experiences, he reassured fans of his excellent physical condition, mentioning only jet lag interfering with his sleep schedule.
Through Last Word On Spurs, he stated:
“During a game, someone may kick or tread on you. I occasionally kick myself. I’m in good physical condition aside from jet lag keeping me awake at night.
For Tottenham supporters, the news of Son’s fitness is a relief.
They lacked inventiveness up front even without James Maddison, as they showed against Wolves. It would have been disastrous if Son had been hurt at this point.
Son will represent his country in the 2026 World Cup by playing against China and Singapore.
Spurs will be hoping that Son and their other international players return without any injuries.
They face a formidable challenge when they play Aston Villa in the league.
Tottenham, eager to win after two straight losses, will have a difficult test against Villa, led by Unai Emery.

‘Crazy money’- Fabrizio Romano explains Tottenham’s plan for January transfers
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur is not in a rush to make additions and will not spend “crazy money” in January if the right players are not available.
Over the past few weeks, a lot has been written and discussed regarding Tottenham’s January plans. According to Football Insider, the club’s top priorities are to sign a defensive midfielder and a center-back.
In particular, a lot of conjecture has surrounded Spurs’ rumored pursuit of a center-half, with players like Lloyd Kelly, Trevor Chalobah, and Marc Guehi believed to be on the North London team’s wishlist (GiveMeSport).
After Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic’s injuries, there have also been hints in more recent times that Ange Postecoglou’s team will try to reinforce their wide areas (Tribal Football).
But after using up most of the Harry Kane transfer money in the summer before the striker joined Bayern Munich, David Ornstein said in a Q&A on The Athletic last week that Tottenham does not have much money to spend in January.
Tottenham will not push the boat out in January
Now, Romano has made a similar suggestion, saying that the Lilywhites will search for openings in the last few days of the window.
“On Spurs, we know they have some injuries in defense at the moment, but they are not desperate to sign cover,” he said to Caughtoffside. That will rely on the circumstances.
“I’ve been told they won’t panic because they know most of these players will be back at the end of December, so they’ll assess the situation then. They’ve just been unlucky to have a lot of injuries at the same time.”
“In general, I don’t see Tottenham blowing big bucks in January; that’s not the current plan.” They are content with the squad’s current balance, but they may search for opportunities as the January transfer window comes to an end because of the importance of some key players’ recuperation times.
These assertions are probably the result of what people like Romano and Ornstein have heard from different agents involved in the game.
Despite the fact that Tottenham has not historically made large-scale acquisitions in January, I think the team will shock everyone by being extremely active in the transfer window this year.
