Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in signing Jonathan David from Lille during the summer transfer season, according to L’Equipe.

David is being considered by Tottenham as a possible Harry Kane replacement.

Bundesliga winners Kane will be acquired by Bayern Munich from Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

According to L’Equipe, Tottenham has identified David as a potential replacement for the England international striker should he decide to join Bayern.

The 23-year-old forward from Canada is available for sale to a French magazine for a price of €60 million (£51.55 million).

David was described as “a fantastic player” by BBC Sport pundit and former Manchester City defender Micah Richards on Match of the Day in November 2022.

Jonathan David would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur

World-class striker Harry Kane is a player.

The England and Tottenham Hotspur player is a living legend.

Kane may easily surpass Alan Shearer’s goal total if he stays in the Premier League for another two or three years.

Shearer, a former player for Newcastle United, scored 260 goals in 441 Premier League games.

In 320 Premier League games played thus far in his career, Kane has 213 goals to his credit.

The fact is that it would be very difficult to replace Kane with any other striker.

When talking about Jonathan David as a possible Kane replacement at Spurs, we have to keep that in mind.

David is still developing and is only 23 years old.

However, the international from Canada is a very excellent forward who has room to grow and develop in the future.

David, who can play as a center-forward or out wide, started 36 games and made one substitute appearance for Lille last year.

In those contests, the youthful player notched 24 goals and four assists.

David played for Lille in Ligue 1 during the 2021–22 season, making 32 starts and six substitute appearances.

In those games, the striker scored 15 goals.
