Sad News as ‘Special’ £25m midfielder reject the chance to join Tottenham this month
Arthur Vermeeren, a teenage midfield player for Royal Antwerp, reportedly received a bid from Tottenham but rejected it.
The bulk of Europe’s top teams have been pursuing the 18-year-old potential this January; Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool are just a few of the teams linked to the £25 million-rated Vermeeren.
Tottenham has apparently been considering Vermeeren as well, given the midfielder’s success for Antwerp in the UEFA Champions League.
De Standaard claims that Vermeeren declined Tottenham’s approach because he didn’t think the Belgian wonderkid was ready for the Premier League yet.
Given that Vermeeren is said to be joining Atletico Madrid, moving to Spain would be the best option for him before moving to England and possibly Tottenham.
In fact, the midfield player is showing maturity by choosing to play in La Liga over the Premier League, and Tottenham may yet decide to recruit the Belgian player in the future if he continues to grow.

Given how much Vermeeren has been in the spotlight as one of Antwerp’s standout players, it’s easy to forget how young the midfielder is at just eighteen.
Vermeeren’s youth may also work to Tottenham’s benefit, since the midfield player is expected to join Atletico Madrid in January.
In addition, there’s a good chance Tottenham may try again in the future to sign the adolescent because the La Liga team is frequently willing to let go for the proper price.

For the first time in his 18 months since moving to Tottenham, Richarlison has found some success.
The Brazilian has scored six goals in six games for Spurs now, and it looks like he’s finally moving in the right direction.
There is always space for growth, though, and Terry Naylor has been talking about what the Brazilian needs to do to get even better on The Spurs Show.
Naylor feels that right now, Riley plays too defensively and that he could be a little more attack-oriented, staying forward to win the ball back when Spurs clear it.
Richarlison does too much defending
Naylor gave his assessment of the attacker, who is 26 years old.
“He is aware of his actions, the opportunities he lost, and the direction he ought to have been going. The man has pace, strength, and excellent aerial ability. As a center-forward, he has all the tools you need. Though he plays way too much defense when it’s not necessary, Naylor stated, “I think we can say he’s definitely a number nine. Just stay up there because when we clear the lines you need to be there.”
Working hard
We never imagined the day would come when a striker would be blamed for exerting excessive effort.
Although Richarlison’s extensive tracking back helps Tottenham in many aspects, it has reduced his offensive productivity in the last 12 months.
Over the last few weeks, Richarlison has found a way to combine hard work and goals; if he can maintain this, Spurs will be able to have the best of both worlds. However, if he starts to lose goals again, he might want to consider focusing less on his defensive duties.
