Report: Tottenham now want to sign £43m midfielder who Gary Lineker thinks is ‘exceptionally talented’
In one of the next two transfer windows, Tottenham Hotspur is once again being linked to a move to capture Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
Spurs don’t appear like the team from the previous year.In his brief tenure at the club, Ange Postecoglou has done miracles, and Tottenham might accomplish something exceptional this season. If they are to accomplish that, January signings will be crucial, and Calhanoglu is the most recent name to be connected to a transfer to North London.
Tottenham linked with Hakan Calhanoglu
For many years, Hakan Calhanoglu has been connected to a transfer to Tottenham.
Premier League teams have always been interested in the Turk, but for various reasons, no deal has ever come together.
Many believed that a move to the Premier League was no longer in the cards when the midfielder, who is now 29 years old, moved from AC Milan to Inter last year.
But according to InterLive, Tottenham is reportedly interested in signing Calhanoglu once more and may do so if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg decides to quit the team. The Dane has been strongly connected to a transfer to Juventus.
But the Turk still has more than three and a half years left on his deal, and Inter plan to demand more than £43 million (€50 million) to sign him.
Gary Lineker, who is a huge fan of Calhanoglu and once described the Turk as “exceptionally talented,” believes that the player is a very excellent player on his day (BBC One, June 11, 2021, 7:39 pm).
Spurs don’t need Calhanoglu
We simply can not see Tottenham even thinking about acquiring Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Turk has shown at both Milan teams that he is a dependable player to have in the lineup. He’s not old enough to move to England, though, and the Premier League is a whole new ball game.
If Hojbjerg departs, Tottenham may require a new midfield player; however, despite Calhanoglu’s strong performances in Italy, he is not the person they should be considering.
We firmly believe that this move will not take place.
