Report: Tottenham now ready to sign £30m defender quickly after Brighton nightmare
Tottenham is getting ready to get closer to Genoa star Radu Dragusin in their hunt for a new defender.
In the past few weeks, Dragusin has been brought up frequently in relation to Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou is reportedly eager to sign the defender to a contract with the team.
Moreover, Dragusin’s representative has often stated that the defender is willing to speak with Premier League teams, including Tottenham.
And now Tottenham is prepared to make their first real move toward Dragusin, according to Calciomercato.
According to the source, Spurs will approach the Italian side about a possible trade for Dragusin over the next few hours.
Tottenham is severely lacking in defenders as a result of Cristian Romero’s injury, and after losing four last night, it appears the team wants to act swiftly.
Tottenham ready to bid for Radu Dragusin
In order to support Postecoglou, it appears like Spurs are prepared to move swiftly, and Dragusin may be the player they choose.
Spurs may need to spend up to £30 million, according to reports, but considering their current defensive situation, the money will be well spent.
Dragusin has obviously made an impression in Serie A, which is why Tottenham has him on their radar for January.
Spurs and Big Ange must have been concerned by last night’s crushing at Brighton. They really need someone in the door because of the unsettling manner the Seagulls occasionally cut through them and the absence of Van de Ven and Romero.
It appears that Dragusin could be the one to step in and take the place. However, it remains to be seen if he can adapt fast enough to enter the starting lineup right away.
Spurs supporters will undoubtedly hope so.
