Pete O’Rourke claims 20-year-old sensation is now the ‘top target’ for Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur has identified Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior as a “top target” ahead of the January transfer window, according to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider.
The 20-year-old “sensation” is thought to have “huge potential,” according to Spurs executives.
Iling-Junior has been linked to the Premier League team in recent Italian media reports.
The winger has played for Juventus for just 113 minutes this season, despite having a bright future ahead of him.
Iling-Junior is reportedly eager to leave Juventus in pursuit of regular playing time because he is itching for more consistent playing opportunities.
The winger’s top suitors appear to be Tottenham, who are reportedly prepared to bargain with Juventus to acquire his services in January.
According to reports, Massimiliano Allegri, the manager of Juventus, is also eager to let go of Iling-Junior and is interested in Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.
De Paul’s arrival, though, might depend on the winger’s sale.
Given Richarlison’s difficulties and Tottenham’s severe injury problems, which include the extended absences of Solomon and Perisic, a left-sided attacker is desperately needed.
In the next transfer window, Spurs might be able to get his services for a fair price.
They lack a great deal of options in the midfield and defense. Their season could be severely derailed if they don’t sign replacements for these positions.

The strategies used by Ange Postecoglou in the last 30 minutes of the London derby against Chelsea two weeks ago, according to Glenn Hoddle, worried him.
If their team is down to nine men, most managers would close shop and defend with every player behind the ball.
To give his team the best chance of creating chances, Postecoglou asked his team to keep pressing the Blues and for Tottenham’s defense to stiffen even more.
Son Heung-min and Rodrigo Bentancur had opportunities to tie the score, but the opposition scored two late goals to add some gloss to the result, so the ploy almost worked.
Jamie Carragher, among others, acknowledged that they had never witnessed anything similar and commended Postecoglou for his bravery (Sky Sports).
Glenn Hoddle is worried about Spurs’ high line
Hoddle, on the other hand, implied that the strategy was ill-considered and insisted that Chelsea would eventually expose the offside trap.
The legendary player for Tottenham stated to talkSPORT, “I have some small suspicions.” Playing the way we were, I was concerned when we were down to nine men. That’s okay if that’s Ange’s desire.
“But I’ve played football long enough to know that with only nine men on the field, you can’t put pressure on the ball.” Yes, sometimes it really is horses for courses. I’m not attempting to be pessimistic.
Naturally, I was hoping that Spurs would win it. Even though I had three fantastic years at Chelsea, I’m a Spurs fan and have been since I was eight years old.
Yet as I was sitting there, I couldn’t help but think that any team in the world, even a youth team, could have taken that apart. That is my perspective, anyhow. However, it’s encouraging if Ange is responding with, “No, we’re going ahead.”
He believes that by positioning the back four on the halfway line, he will be able to exert some pressure and force players to advance. Son had a late opportunity to tie the score at two points.
“Ange has a very good theory, but I’ve played football long enough to know they’re going to break down. Chelsea just needed to time their runs correctly.
Even though the strategy appeared a little crazy at times, Chelsea appeared to be somewhat alarmed, so it actually almost worked.
It seems to me that Ange wanted his players to know that no matter what, he always wants them to be happy. That strategy was intended to encourage that way of thinking just as much as it was to win that particular game.
