One Word For Darvin Ham.. NBA report

Dunkin’ Darvin Ham’s dunking days might be over, but he is lending a big assist to the Atlanta Hawks’ coaching staff.

Ham was a member of the Pistons’ 2004 championship team, rising from an undrafted rookie from Texas Tech after just playing his senior year at Saginaw High and eventually landing a spot on the Otero Junior College team in La Junta, Colo. He was dismissed after getting into a fight with some baseball players after they used a racial slur.

Despite the setback, Ham reached the league and played eight years in the NBA.

He has landed on the Hawks’ staff as an assistant coach and coached the team’s summer league entry. The Hawks are similar to the championship team he played on in Detroit because there are no superstars. They share the ball and play defense on a string.
