JUSTIN: KENTUCKY BASKETBALL GUARD DECLARES FOR NBA DRAFT
Lexington, KY – In a move that was widely anticipated, Kentucky Wildcats guard Cason Wallace has officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Wallace, a sophomore from Dallas, Texas, has been a key contributor to the Wildcats’ success over the past two seasons. He averaged 11.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 2023-2024, earning All-SEC honors and helping lead Kentucky to the NCAA Tournament.
“After careful consideration and discussion with my family and coaches, I have decided to take the next step in my basketball journey and declare for the 2025 NBA Draft,” Wallace said in a statement. “I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at Kentucky and appreciate the support of the Big Blue Nation.”
Wallace is widely regarded as one of the top guard prospects in the 2025 draft class, with many mock drafts projecting him as a lottery pick. His decision to enter the draft comes as no surprise, given his impressive production and athleticism.
“Cason is an exceptional talent with a bright future ahead of him,” said Kentucky head coach John Calipari. “We’re proud of the hard work and dedication he’s shown during his time at Kentucky, and we wish him all the best as he pursues his NBA dreams.”
Wallace’s departure will undoubtedly be felt in Lexington, but the Wildcats have a talented crop of young guards waiting in the wings. Kentucky fans will be eager to see how the team responds to Wallace’s departure, but for now, they’ll be cheering him on as he chases his NBA dreams.
The 2025 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on June 25, 2025.
