Boo Carter led four Tennessee football players on the SEC All-Freshman team, which was voted on by the league’s head coaches and released on Thursday.

Carter made it as defensive back and return specialist. Tight end Ethan Davis, defensive end Jordan Ross and linebacker Jalen Smith also made the squad. However, Smith, a redshirt freshman, has entered the portal.

It marks the most Vols on the SEC All-Freshman team since having four recognized in 2011.

Carter made 35 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, one sack and one interception at the Star position, what UT calls its nickelback. He played all 12 games with five starts. He also averaged 16.5 yards per punt return after taking over that role late in the season.
