‘I’m very angry’ – Tottenham star thinks he should have scored a hat-trick against Wolves

Despite scoring Tottenham’s lone goal in their 2-1 loss to Wolves in the Premier League this weekend, Dejan Kulusevski expressed frustration with his finishing.

At the start of the second half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Swede scored a crucial goal for the Lilywhites by dancing through the area and putting the ball between Jose Sa’s legs to tie the score.

But even though they puffed and puffed for the next twenty minutes, the Spurs were unable to overcome the resilient Wolves defense, lost the game 2-1, and were also hit on the break.

Due to the low block, Tottenham did not have many opportunities throughout the game, but Kulusevski did see a few opportunities to increase his tally.

Dejan Kulusevski was angry with himself against Wolves

The winger was obviously irritated by his inability to convert in his post-match interview with SpursPLAY, as Tottenham fell out of the Premier League top four for the second time in a row.

“It’s definitely difficult [to break teams apart],” he stated. We tried throughout the first half, but we were unable to solve the problem. I always think you have to do something exceptional, and special teams come from confidence, so that’s usually where the talent comes in. Therefore, you must persevere and know that good work will come more easily.

“I’m very sad, actually very angry, because I had two more very close opportunities to score, but that’s life. It was one good moment [for the goal].”

It is true that you frequently need to be clinical in front of goal in those low block games. Sadly, Tottenham’s style of play will always see them give up chances on the break; therefore, even when their opponents have 11 men behind the ball, they must constantly find a way to generate chances of their own.
