“I would say no” – Pundit brutally criticises Tottenham player as he urges European club not to sign him
Former manager Jose Mourinho was encouraged by pundit Stuart Robson not to sign Eric Dier in January due to worries about the Tottenham defender’s speed and capacity for playing at the highest level of football.

He may, however, be moving to AS Roma in January, where his old manager Jose Mourinho is eager to sign him.
The Tottenham defender is well-known to Jose Mourinho because he previously trained him while he was a member of the Premier League team.
Stuart Robson, a commentator, has since advised Mourinho not to buy the Tottenham defender.
He remarked in a statement to ESPN:
What do you desire? Do you prefer a solid defender over someone who is able to play passes into the front players? If you want a solid defender, I wouldn’t recommend getting Eric Dier because he isn’t quick enough, doesn’t recognize danger quickly enough, and is therefore a liability. However, if you want someone who will just play out from the back, he might be a nice option.

Dier might get an opportunity to relaunch his career with a move to Roma. Given the slow tempo of play in the Italian league, Dier might not have a problem with his pace.
Given that Mourinho is very familiar with the player and is aware of both his talents and shortcomings, it might be the right choice for him.
It would be ideal for Spurs to sign him in January so they could keep him instead of losing him to a free transfer in the summer.
