The Lilywhites, on the other hand, are still unblemished and are now atop the standings after the first eight games. Spurs have gotten themselves into the title race with six wins and two draws, including victory over top-six rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
Sherwood says Levy will need to invest in January
Although most experts and fans still believe that Manchester City will win the title at the end of the season, these hesitant rumors about a title challenge from Spurs have club supporters secretly delighted.
And Tim Sherwood believes Daniel Levy will need to take advantage of it in the transfer market if they are still at the top of the table when the January transfer window opens.
At 2:35 p.m. on October 14th, he said to Sky Sports News, “I truly do think it’s different this year. I believe there are more teams competing for the title. Tottenham needs to be involved right now. Exactly why not?
“But why can’t they go and invest again if they are there or thereabouts in January? That may require Daniel Levy to go do it.Tottenham very rarely makes a big purchase in January, and regardless of our position, I still don’t believe Levy will relax the purse strings too much.However, there is no reason why Levy wouldn’t be inclined to make one more signing than originally anticipated if we are still winning and the supporters remain solidly behind Postecoglou.
