‘I have lost confidence’: Ange Postecoglou has no confidence in 27-year-old Tottenham player anymore

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has little faith in Giovani Lo Celso.

The Spurs’ season has gotten off to an incredible start. All of the players who have played have stepped up almost without exception, however Lo Celso has missed the majority of the season with an injury. Though, if reports from Estadio Deportivo are to be accepted, Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, no longer has faith in him.

Ange Postecoglou has no confidence in Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso

In the summer of 2019, Tottenham acquired Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis.

The midfield player joined Spurs on a loan at first, but that agreement was extended permanently the following year, costing the North London team a total of £42.3 million (Standard).

Although Lo Celso has occasionally displayed brilliance while wearing a Tottenham shirt, he has never been able to secure a regular starting position for whatever reason.

The Argentine was expected to be sold in the summer by many, having spent the 18 months before to this season on loan at Villarreal.

But after a few standout preseason games, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou made the surprising decision to stick onto him. It appears that this honeymoon phase is now over.

After missing more than a month of football due to injury, Lo Celso ‘does not have the confidence’ of Postecoglou anymore, according to Estadio Deportivo.

According to the article, Real Betis and Barcelona were connected to a deal to sign Lo Celso last summer, suggesting that there may be interest in the player from Spain. But as it is, there’s nothing to report on that front.
