Hugo Lloris is reportedly close to joining LAFC in America, ending an 11-year career with Tottenham Hotspur, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Lloris, who failed to secure a move in the summer, has remained a bit part player in North London thus far this season, always present in training but invisible during games.

At the beginning of the season, Heung-min Son was given the Spurs captain’s armband, and as Lloris’ contract expires in the summer of 2024, it was obvious that he had already played his last game for the team.

But now that the January transfer window is open, it looks like the French World Cup winner has finally agreed to go to secure regular first-team football with LAFC in the Major League Soccer.

Lloris will join the American team permanently rather than on a six-month loan after Fabrizio Romano gave the deal his “here we go” clearance. It is uncertain if Tottenham will be compensated in any way for the move.

Lloris will agree to a one-year contract with LAFC, with the possibility of renewal for additional seasons.

According to the source, Spurs will approach the Italian side about a possible trade for Dragusin over the next few hours.
