Good News for Spurs: Loaned-out international star could save Tottenham millions if Postecoglou gives him a shot

After a fantastic start to the season, Tottenham has gradually fallen down the Premier League rankings.

After a string of thrilling victories under Ange Postecoglou, the North London team was riding high; however, their most recent setback has left them in fifth position.

Aston Villa, led by Unai Emery, emerged victorious at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, November 26, winning 2-1.

With the three points, the Midlands club overcame Postecoglou’s team to advance into the Champions League spots. With all of their injuries, it was always going to be difficult for the hosts to take away anything from the match.

Postecoglou might be compelled to enter the transfer market by this lengthy list, which included players like Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, and Richarlison, among many more.

But, teenage striker Troy Parrott, who is presently on a season-long loan at Excelsior Rotterdam, is already an alternative that is there in front of him.

And Parrott, 21, is clearly having fun in the Netherlands as he scored his fourth goal against Feyenoord on Saturday, November 25, marking his tenth goal in the Eredivisie. In addition, the forward recorded his second assist in as many games as his team lost 4-2 overall.

When he moved to Bayern Munich in the summer, former Tottenham striker Harry Kane made all the news, but Postecoglou at least managed to lose fellow striker Parrott for a short while.

And given that the Republic of Ireland international would still be needed in North London, that might turn out to be a very wise choice.

Tottenham might save millions by not having to recruit a new striker if the young player is given the opportunity and seizes it.

Tottenham youth players to get their ‘chance’ under Ange Postecoglou as ‘vital’ admission is made – Expert

According to John Wenham, Ange Postecoglou will give greater opportunities to the Tottenham junior players, and the academy’s playing philosophy may facilitate their “effective transition.”

The Spurs Under-21 and Under-18 teams are leading their respective categories this season, demonstrating how successful the club’s junior squads are.

In particular, a number of players in the Under-21 lineup have been playing well and making inroads toward Postecoglou.

Wenham thinks those kids will eventually get their chance and that their play in the academy will help them step up quickly into the starting lineup.

In an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wentworth stated: “We now have a manager who will give the youth a chance and actually believes in them.”

“In recent weeks, a number of academy youngsters, including Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, and Ashley Phillips, have been selected on the bench. It’s alright that they haven’t entered the pitch.

“I believe that everything is just a learning process and that the goal is to normalize the integration of academy players into the starting lineup.”

In order for the players to know exactly what to do and how to play when called upon, it is crucial that the Under-21 and Under-18 teams play in the same manner as the first team.

Dorrington, the center defender, won the ball back by pushing high up the pitch in the Under-21s’ Premier League Cup victory over Peterborough United Under-21s, which ended in a 2-0 victory.

“Those players will be playing in that manner on the first team, so it’s critical that they get used to playing that way in order to make an effective transition. That high press is vital.”
