Is Matteo Guendouzi leaving Marseille?

Although the central midfielder still has two years left on his contract with Marcelino’s team, Le10 Sport claims that he has begun to “ask questions” about his future after only playing one set of 90 minutes in April, May, and June combined.

However, Unai Emery recently revealed that he is a big fan of the player and is considering making a second approach. The French international was attracting significant interest from the Midlands outfit back in January, but a deal did not materialize.

Given that the Premier League manager previously managed the 24-year-old while he was at Arsenal and that the tough-tackling ace and Boubacar Kamara were teammates before, should he be looking for a new club, there’s a chance that a double reunion could be in the works.
Leander Dendoncker, despite being “rated” by the manager, is up against “a lot of competition” to secure a regular starting spot. Guendouzi’s 57 prior appearances here in the Premier League would undoubtedly draw interest from Aston Villa, and the central midfielder’s connections to Emery and Kamara seem to make him an even more reasonable target.
