‘All the time’: Dejan Kulusevski says 21-year-old Tottenham player always gets roasted by his teammates

Pepe Matar Sarr of Tottenham Hotspur has been highlighted by Dejan Kulusevski as the guy who consistently receives criticism from his teammates.

In comparison to last year, Spurs appear to be a very different team, both on and off the field. With the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, which is a really positive sign. Sarr is one of those athletes who never seems to stop grinning.

Dejan Kulusevski claims that at Tottenham, Pape Matar Sarr is consistently ridiculed.

In the summer of 2021, Tottenham signed Pape Matar Sarr from Metz.

Before coming to Spurs 18 months ago, the young player played that season on loan in France. There weren’t many expectations for him this term, since he only started five games in the previous campaign.

But during the preseason, Ange Postecoglou noticed something in Sare that truly impressed him, and this season, he has grown to be a vital part of the team.

The 21-year-old has not only excelled on the field, but his colleagues also adore him off it, to the point that they reportedly make fun of him all the time behind closed doors.

When asked which Tottenham player gets “roasted” the most in their group conversation, Dejan Kulusevski replied to BBC Sport, “Emerson and Pape Sarr.”

“Everyone is constantly making jokes about Pape Sarr. Pape is just cute. He’s just great man, full of smiles and beautiful qualities. Everyone enjoys his vigor.

Pape Sarr has been amazing this season

This season, Pape Matar Sarr has truly been a breath of fresh air at Tottenham.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has spent the majority of this season on the bench thanks to the 21-year-old. The Dane just has no way of going back now that he has been so excellent.

Both his colleagues and the Tottenham community adore Sarr just the way he is. But he still has so much more to give on the field. He has already been referred to as a “top player” by Postecoglou.

The young player has nearly everything going for him, and with Postecoglou’s faith in him, he might emerge in a few years as one of the Premier League’s top midfield players.
