Alabama football has added a second tight end in the 2025 class via a flip.

Marshall Pritchett, a three-star tight end out of Rabun Gap, Georgia, committed to the Crimson Tide on Tuesday. Pritchett flipped his commitment to Alabama from North Carolina, which he made March 23.

A 6-foot-5, 211-pound tight end out of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, Pritchett is the No. 535 player in the 2025 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is the No. 30 tight end in the country.

Pritchett, who reported an offer from the Crimson Tide on May 19, is the second tight end in Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class, joining four-star Kaleb Edwards: the No. 161 player and the No. 8 tight end in the country out of El Dorado Hills, California.

Pritchett is the third Georgia native to commit to Alabama in the 2025 class along with four-star linebacker Darrell Johnson and four-star linebacker Luke Metz.

Alabama is in the process of rebuilding its tight end room.

The Crimson Tide’s 2024 tight end room is front loaded with experience, headlined with senior CJ Dippre, redshirt junior Josh Cuevas, who transferred from Washington, and senior Robbie Ouzts.

After Alabama flipped Ty Lockwood from Ohio State in the 2023 class, it added two tight ends in 2024: three-star Jay Lindsey and four-star Caleb Odom, who moved to wide receiver.

Pritchett is more of a pass-catching option at tight end for Alabama in 2025. According to MaxPreps, he had 44 receptions for 621 yards and four touchdowns as a junior in 2023. Pritchett is also an award-winning lacrosse player.

Edwards, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound Alabama commit, is also a pass-catching threat with 23 receptions for 364 yards and two touchdowns in six games for Oak Ridge High School.

In the past few classes, Alabama has emphasized tight ends that are taller, leaner pass-catchers rather than extensions of the offensive line, following suit of many major programs throughout college football.
