‘Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Justin Fields’ says ESPN’s Adam Schefter
The top NFL insider for ESPN casually brought up Mike Tomlin’s fondness for Justin Fields, the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Although we are all aware of the circumstances surrounding the Chicago Bears and the NFL these past several months, Justin Fields is still under contract to play football for the team. There have been suggestions that Fields might be dealt because Chicago has the first overall pick in the draft and general manager Ryan Poles can select the best quarterback available on his board.
When Adam Schefter of ESPN was questioned about the possibility that the Pittsburgh Steelers will target quarterback Ryan Tannehill earlier today, he was on the Pat McAfee Show. Shefter stated that Tannehill and the new offensive coordinator of the Steelers, Arthur Smith, “have an obvious connection,” but he also listed Chicago’s Fields and Denver’s Russell Wilson as potential candidates for the Steel City.
Shefter praised Pittsburgh’s head coach Justin Fields, saying, “Mike Tomlin’s a big fan of him.” “We’ll bear that in mind in the upcoming weeks and offseason.”
For those who are curious, the Steelers are expected to select the following player in the 2024 NFL Draft: Rounds 20, 21, 52, 84, 119, 120, 206, and 237 were the first, second, third, sixth, and seventh rounds.
The quarterback-starved Steelers, along with the Falcons and Patriots, have been mentioned as potential suitors for Fields if the Bears decide to trade him.
