‘I Was On a Call About Him Today’: Pundit Shares What He’s Been Told about £43m Tottenham Sensational Target

Since Harry Kane left, Tottenham has been connected to a number of strikers; Santiago Gimenez is one player whose name keeps coming up.

Over the past 18 months or so, the Feyenoord striker has been making waves in the Netherlands, and Spurs have developed a fondness for the £43 million player.

On the BBC Transfer Gossip Daily Podcast, David Ornstein said that Feyenoord was actually not interested in selling the Mexican this month.

Ornstein does, in fact, report that he spoke with someone recently regarding Giménez, and that person made it quite evident to him that Feyenoord does not wish to transfer the player.

Feyenoord don’t want to sell Gimenez

Ornstein gave his knowledge of the striker.

“From what I’ve seen of him, I really like him, but there’s that Dutch caution.” I was on a call about him today, and without realizing we were going to talk about this, it became evident to me how much Feyenoord needed to hold onto him for the rest of the season. They’re in Europe, and if they can qualify for the Champions League, that would be worth more than a sale price. If the price goes up into the 40s or higher, though, that situation may change, and I don’t think they’re currently entertaining any interest,” Ornstein said.

One for the summer

Although Feyenoord doesn’t want to let Gimenez go this month, by the time summer arrives, they might not be able to block this transfer.

Gimenez has, in fact, earned the right to play at the highest level, and a summer transfer seems imminent.

By the time summer arrives, Tottenham might be in that race. After all, rumors have claimed that the Spurs will attempt to sign a player to replace Harry Kane after the current season ends.
