Tottenham eye ‘incredible swap deal’ with Premier League rivals for star midfielder

Football London reports that Tottenham is still hoping to complete a “incredible swap deal” in order to get Conor Gallagher, a midfield player for Chelsea, in January.

It is well known that the North London club is interested in Gallagher. Chelsea opted not to sell him at that time, therefore their attempt to sign him in the summer was unsuccessful.

Spurs, however, are still after the young midfield player. According to a recent source from The Athletic, the North London club will likely try again to close the deal if the Gallagher becomes available in January.

Spurs’ interest in strengthening their team has increased with their concerns about their midfield, which stems from the absence of key players in the AFCON, namely Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma.

Under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has slipped in the hierarchy and is being linked to a January departure, with Juventus being one of the teams most seriously interested.

Hojbjerg and Gallagher are involved in the rumors circulating about a possible trade between Tottenham and Chelsea.Negotiations between the two London clubs may be facilitated by Hojbjerg’s possible departure and Spurs’ need for a midfield replacement, according to a report from Football London.

In their relatively youthful squad, Chelsea could use Hojbjerg’s experience, but it’s unclear if he would mesh well with Pochettino’s coaching philosophy.

Tottenham tell Jean-Clair Todibo he’ll be playing a big part

Tottenham has reportedly begun negotiations with Todibo and his representatives, even discussing his position on the club with him, according to a story from The Standard.

Todibo may be wondering what his position on the squad will be given that Cristian Romero is set to stay put and Micky van de Ven will be returning in early 2024.

Spurs, it is said, have informed the Frenchman that he would be involved in the procedures right away and that he will play a significant role in the first team.

This indicates that Ange Postecoglou will probably use the defender in a back four, or even better yet, as part of a three-man defense. Naturally, only the Spurs manager is aware of the response to

Tottenham getting closer

These kinds of stories don’t get published if a deal isn’t moving forward. There is definitely a plan to trade Todibo to the Spurs.

Tottenham appears to be coming together rapidly in this regard, and it appears that Ange is putting a lot of effort toward acquiring Todibo.

Todibo will not be available for cheap at £40–43. But January seems important because Spurs need a defender and because they are competitive for the top four.

So, Todibo might be worth the money spent.
