Tottenham ‘interest’ confirmed in €100m Brazilian, super agent ‘personally’ involved

Tottenham Hotspur is eager to get Morato, the defender for Benfica.

The north London club has apparently shown “interest” in the Brazilian defender, according to a report from Calciomercato, and they have supposedly scouted him multiple times.

The defender’s contract contains a release clause of over €100 million, although Benfica may decide to allow him to leave for a payment of about €30 million. Super agent Kia Joorabchian is “personally” involved in the deal, the newspaper adds.

Spurs are in need of a center defender, and the 22-year-old seems like a wise long-term choice. His play in the Portuguese league has impressed, and he might strengthen Tottenham’s defense.

Due to an injury, Micky van de Ven is presently out, while Eric Dier is rumored to be leaving in January. It is imperative that Tottenham sign a center defender, although it is unclear if they will be able to do so.

The 22-year-old Brazilian will be drawn to play in the Premier League and will try to prove himself to a major team like Spurs. Playing football on a regular basis in England could help him reach his enormous potential and advance his growth.

If the Brazilian starts well in the Premier League and reaches his full potential with the London club, the rumored €30 million fee would seem like a huge deal.

Tottenham needs to strengthen their defense if they want to end the season strong and qualify for the Champions League.

Report: Gent turn down offer for Gift Orban after Spurs links in the summer

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Gent has rejected Eintracht Frankfurt’s £21 million bid for Gift Orban, a player who is reportedly a target for Tottenham.

After getting into Gent’s starting eleven the previous season, Orban had an outstanding debut to Belgian football, concluding the 2022–23 campaign with 20 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.

Spurs became aware of him as a result, and during the summer transfer window, the striker was frequently linked to a move to the North London team (CaughtOffside).

The 21-year-old has not been as prolific this season, but he still has a respectable goal return with 12 goals from 26 appearances across all competitions (Tranfermarkt). However, the deal never went through.

Frankfurt step up interest in Gift Orban

Frankfurt has made a first offer of €24 million (£20.6 million) for Orban, according to TMW, who also claims that the team has a “serious” interest in the striker.

According to the source, Gent, who are holding out for a higher price for the young superstar, rejected this.

According to the Italian source, the Bundesliga team is still pursuing the Nigerian and should make another offer soon.

Only four of Orban’s goals this season have come in the Belgian top division, therefore his stats do not particularly stand out. The striker in the Europa Conference League seemed to have thrived against inferior opponents.

I recall how some Spurs supporters were furious on social media because the Tottenham management was unwilling to spend £30 million for the striker in the summer, even if they had only seen YouTube videos of Orban. It appears that the club’s moderation has paid off.
