Eagles player offers surprising take on controversial no-call

“Holding himself more accountable than the refs.”

There was a lot of criticism directed at the officiating during and following Sunday’s Buffalo Bills vs. Philadelphia Eagles game.

Replays during overtime revealed Eagles cornerback Darius Slay making heavy contact with Bills receiver Stefon Diggs during a pass, which sparked controversy. Slay was not penalized for holding or pass interference, even though the pass fell incomplete. Diggs also provided a refreshingly candid perspective on Monday.

After watching a replay on Twitter/X, Slay commented, “Nobody perfect, refs miss calls all the time. But every play involves grabbing and holding. I wouldn’t be upset at all if they had called!
