Tottenham in the mix for two signings, as officials sent – Spurs can seal one relatively easily, second a little difficult
Local reports state that Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch this weekend’s Lisbon derby between Sporting and Benfica.
According to the Portuguese daily O Jogo, Spurs sent a representative to the match to observe two particular players. Pedro Gonçalves and Marcus Edwards are the stars of the Lions.
The publication begins by emphasizing that Tottenham has long been interested in the pair, having watched them “again” and taken additional notes on their performances.
Speaking of Marcus Edwards, the former Tottenham player, it should be noted that the London team still owns 35% of his potential sale, which might lead to a signing bonus.
He put on a strong display on Sunday, and he is rumored to have “never hid” his desire to return to England and play Premier League football. He currently has a €60 million release clause protecting him, but the club wants to increase it to €80 million.
O Jogo states that the negotiations “will be more complicated” in regards to Gonçalves. First of all, there are a lot more teams interested in signing him, and secondly, his release clause is already worth €80 million.
That’s a sizable sum of money for the two, so it will be interesting to see if Tottenham actually pursues them.

Genua According to reports today, Tottenham Hotspur has jumped ahead of several Serie A teams in the competition for Albert Gudmundsson, a winger for Genoa.
With five goals in 12 league games this season, the adaptable attacker has taken the Italian top division by storm. Gudmundsson was exceptional for Genoa in Serie B last season, helping the team secure promotion (Transfermarkt).

Genua They now claim that Inter Milan, in addition to Roma, is monitoring Gudmundsson’s condition.
According to the report, Tottenham is “in the front row” for the wide forward, and the North London team has reportedly been observing him for “some time.”
It is clarified, though, that Genoa has been attempting to bind the player down because they are aware of the increasing interest in him.
