‘Not happy at all’: James Maddison shares what Postecoglou told Tottenham’s players in the changing room at full-time

Following Friday night’s victory against Fulham, Ange Postecoglou spoke with Tottenham Hotspur’s players in the locker room. James Maddison has relayed what he said.

After scoring his first goal at Tottenham’s stadium and leading them to a 2-0 victory over Marco Silva’s team, Maddison spoke to Spurs Play.

Son Heung-min’s incredible goal in the first half gave Spurs a well-deserved 1-0 lead at the half.

Just ten minutes into the second half, Maddison and Son connected to double Tottenham’s lead.

After Maddison’s goal, however, Spurs put on a lackluster performance, and it’s safe to say that Ange Postecoglou wasn’t impressed with his team.

Maddison was questioned by Spurs Play about Postecoglou’s response to their performance in the second half.

To be fair, he remarked, “It was pretty much the same.” “Clearly excited about the victory, I enter the locker room to find the coach in a very unhappy mood.

But he merely thought the second-half performance was a little off, a little careless, and a little complacent. It’s merely a wake-up call. But he thinks that way because that’s who he is, and that’s probably why he has triumphed everywhere he has gone.

“We’ll consider that. However, even when we weren’t performing at our peak, we still experienced some significant moments.

“Scored in the second half, created some chances, and overall I think we’ll all be happy with that.”

With their victory last night, Tottenham reclaimed first place in the standings, passing teams like Arsenal and Manchester City. However, the fact that Postecoglou wasn’t happy with the performance is positive for Spurs.

Spurs were excellent off the ball yesterday night, and their drive to press hard led to both of their goals.

Postecoglou, however, made a strong argument following the game that his team let up after going up 2-0.

In the second half, Tottenham was careless with the ball, giving Fulham several good opportunities.

Nevertheless, Spurs still earned the three points on the evening, and it’s encouraging for Tottenham supporters to know that this youthful team has a lot more to offer.
