According to a tweet from theScore NFL Insider Jordan Schultz on Tuesday, the Chicago Bears have signed former Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots quarterback Trace McSorley to their practice squad.

Trace McSorley is joining the Bears’ practice squad, according to a source, Schultz said. “McSorley travels to Chicago, where Justin Fields’ injury is a current concern.”

Since Baltimore picked him with the 197th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Trace McSorley, a former sixth-round choice out of Penn State, has appeared in nine games for the Ravens and Arizona Cardinals. He made a total of 412 passing yards and five interceptions while playing in six games and starting one for Arizona in 2022. He also managed to complete 45 of his 83 throw attempts. McSorley was cut by the Patriots in August after being signed as an unrestricted free agent by the team in April.

In the 2023 NFL season, the Bears are 1-5. After an 0-4 start to the season, Chicago split its last two games against the Washington Commanders and Minnesota Vikings. After quarterback Justin Fields left a 19-13 loss against the Vikings with a hand injury in the third quarter, Tyson Bagent threw for 83 yards and one interception. In addition to contributing four running yards and one rushing touchdown on only two carries, he completed 10 of his 14 pass attempts.

According to Chicago Bears Associate Writer Gabby Hajduk, head coach of the Bears Matt Eberflus, “His demeanor was great.” It’s always wonderful. He exudes composure and serenity. That was evident outside. He was always acting in that manner. When he was on the field, I believed he had good command over getting the plays and getting them out. In terms of operation, there were no serious hiccups.

On Sunday, October 22, at noon CDT, the Bears will tip off against the Las Vegas Raiders at Soldier Field. Fox will broadcast the game.

In Sunday’s loss for the 49ers, he left the field before quickly coming back. In the fourth quarter, he left the field and didn’t stay on for very long.

Oblique injuries can be aggravating and challenging to recover from. The 49ers don’t have a precise schedule, but MRIs should soon provide them with more information. He is currently considered day-to-day and won’t be out for long.

Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers

Deebo Samuel has a history of injuries much like everyone else. He battled some minor knee and ankle problems to start the year. Before receiving a pass, Samuel left Sunday’s game early due to a shoulder injury. His X-rays came back negative, but the club is currently awaiting the results of other tests to determine the extent of his injuries. Samuel appears to have a mild sprain of his AC joint. In that case, he ought to be fully recovered in a couple of weeks, although Samuel also frequently continues to play despite small wounds.

Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears

In Sunday’s defeat to the Minnesota Vikings, Justin Fields suffered a thumb dislocation on his throwing hand. Although he is not currently scheduled for surgery, the team has been a little hazy regarding his probable comeback. Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

Jimmy Garoppolo is prone to suffering injuries. He was hospitalized after leaving Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots with a back ailment. Testing disproved the Raiders’ suspicion that Garoppolo had any internal damage. The fact that Garoppolo’s injury doesn’t appear to be significant is fortunate for the Raiders. Both his availability and his expected comeback date are still uncertain for Sunday’s game against the Bears.
