Report: Injured Spurs defender falls off a bicycle in training ground accident
Alasdair Gold, a reporter for Tottenham Hotspur, has provided an update on a number of players the team has leased out this year, including Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga, and Alfie Devine.
Seven new faces entered Tottenham during a turbulent summer for the North London club. To balance the budget and prevent the squad from bloating, some outgoings were necessary with so many new additions.
Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez were the only two members of the club’s fringe squad to permanently leave during the transfer season, disappointing some fans who expected the club to be able to offload more players this summer.
However, many players did leave the team this summer on loans. Alfie Devine, Dane Scarlett, and Troy Parrott, three young players who will play more first-team football this season, together with more seasoned pros Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga, all secured moves.

Joe Rodon, according to Gold, is “earning plenty of plaudits” at Leeds United so far this season and has received particular “praise for his role in keeping a clean sheet” on a recent occasion. Due to a knee injury, his teammate Djed Spence will now be sidelined for eight weeks.
In the meanwhile, Tanguy Ndombele participated for 15 minutes in a 4-2 victory over Samsunspor for Galatasaray after coming off the bench.
Ndombele reportedly won’t be “looking to play a part” in his new team’s debut Champions League match this week despite not contributing anything particularly noteworthy during that outing.
Sergio Reguilon made his Premier League debut for Manchester United and participated for 85 minutes in the team’s loss against Brighton. The Spanish player will be looking for a better outcome the following time.
Tanganga hasn’t played for Augsburg this season since he hasn’t fully recovered from a knee injury. The defender reportedly fell off a bicycle at the practice field, which will not help the injury.
Troy Parrot, who “got more game time under his belt” this weekend despite just playing as a substitute for 19 minutes in Excelsior Rotterdam’s 0-0 tie, has nevertheless made it onto the field.
At League One team Port Vale, Alfie Devine is performing significantly better. After his “heroics” in the previous game, in which he assisted and scored a penalty, Devine’s new team gave him a start.
This time, the youthful player made a “crucial last-ditch tackle” early in the game and played 75 minutes in a 1-0 victory for the high-fliers.
Dane Scarlett “again had to watch on as an unused substitute” for Ipswich Town when they overcame Sheffield Wednesday, another promoted team, at the Hillsborough stadium.
Scarlett is “going to have to be patient,” according to Gold, who adds that when the young striker does get his moment, “big things” should be anticipated.
It’s encouraging to see Joe Rodon and Alfie Devine doing well while on loan. Devine has a good future at the club and this run of regular play will greatly aid his development, while the former may never return to Spurs. Dane Scarlett should be given the chance to demonstrate his skills soon.
