Legendary Alabama football coach Nick Saban will be part of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame induction class, he learned Friday evening while taking part in the College GameDay broadcast on ESPN before the Cotton Bowl. #RollTide

Legendary Alabama football coach Nick Saban will be part of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame induction class, it was announced Friday evening. Saban, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in college football history, received the news while appearing on ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast before the Cotton Bowl.
Saban, who has led the Alabama Crimson Tide to six national championships since arriving in Tuscaloosa in 2007, was visibly emotional as he received the news. He was congratulated by GameDay hosts Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard, as well as his fellow analysts.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by the College Football Hall of Fame,” Saban said in a statement. “I’m humbled to be included among such an impressive group of coaches and players who have made significant contributions to the sport.”
Saban’s induction into the College Football Hall of Fame is a testament to his remarkable career, which has spanned over four decades. He has won seven national championships overall, including one at LSU in 2003, and has been named the National Coach of the Year multiple times.
“Nick Saban is one of the most iconic figures in college football, and his induction into the Hall of Fame is well-deserved,” said National Football Foundation Chairman Archie Manning. “His commitment to excellence, his leadership, and his passion for the sport have made a lasting impact on the game.”
Saban will be formally inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame during a ceremony in December 2025. He will be joined by a class of other esteemed coaches and players, who will be announced in the coming months.
