Tyreek King commits to Tennessee football as four-star wide receiver in 2026 class

Knoxville Catholic four-star wide receiver Tyreek King committed to Tennessee football on Thursday. He picked the Vols over offers Alabama, Auburn and Michigan among others.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound King ranks as the No. 120 prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 3 recruit in Tennessee for his class.

“I kind of let (wide receivers) Coach (Cody) Pope know (at) the beginning of this week,” King told GoVols247. “On Monday, I was like, ‘Coach, you know me.’ I was like, ‘I’m coming. Great news coming soon. Me and my parents, we sat down and we talked about it and made a decision today.’

“(Pope) said, ‘I’m amped up, man. I’m ready.’ He said, ‘Let’s do it.’ He was happy. He couldn’t stop.”

King is Tennessee’s fifth commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He visited UT for its games against Kent State and Alabama during this season.

Five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon got Tennessee’s 2026 class started when he committed in early August. Brandon is the No. 1 recruit in the nation. The 6-4, 195-pound Brandon chose Tennessee over Alabama, LSU and North Carolina State to continue UT’s run on elite quarterbacks in recent recruiting classes.
