‘Not up for debate’: Chris Sutton has just made a huge claim about Tottenham man after they beat Palace
Tottenham defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 tonight to extend their lead at the summit to five points under manager Ange Postecoglou’s team.
Heung-Min Son’s second goal and an own made sure it was another victory for the Spurs manager, who has had a significant impact on the team since joining in the summer.
It has turned out better than Postecoglou could have ever expected. Celtic fans are aware, of course, that it was always likely.
And that includes Chris Sutton, who made a daring statement regarding Big Ange tonight.
Chris Sutton hails ‘greatest’ Ange Postecoglou
After ten games, Postecoglou has already had the biggest impact of any manager in history, according to Sutton, who took to social media immediately after the game.
Naturally, we already know that Sutton adores Postecoglou, and the former Premier League striker makes a strong case for this.
He does, however, have a point. Since arriving in London, the Australian has shown off his skills greatly, and he has every right to be pleased with the praise he is receiving.
Postecoglou is the man for Spurs
When the Spurs hired Ange in the summer, not a single fan in the country could have predicted how things would end up.
When it came to Daniel Levy’s managerial decisions at the time, he was further down the hierarchy. Because of this, it is even more amazing that he is accomplishing what he is.
Nights like this one usually serve as a good indicator for Tottenham, who are very much in the mix this season. They are definitely someone to watch because they ultimately passed it with flying colors.
Right now, there’s not much else you can say about Big Ange. Absolutely amazing.

Tottenham Hotspur continued their unbeaten start to life under Ange Postecoglou in the Premier League this evening, recording a 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace.
Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:

Guglielmo Vicario (6.5): Performed his duties as required by Tottenham. A well-timed stop and a few fast responses to start the first half. He was more of a sweeper passing out from behind after that.
Pedro Porro, age sixNot his best in the opening 45 minutes. He misplaced the ball a few times and was never able to locate the necessary space in the pockets. much more hazardous in the second half-hour as he strayed somewhat broader. A few of very good balls into the box. a goal in the end that Palace was gifted due to some careless defending.
Romero Cristiano: 7.5Once more, the vice captain displayed dominance. devoured every Palace player that ventured close to him, and he was presumably Tottenham’s main back-line passer today. incredibly upbeat and proactive performance.
7- Micky Van de VenConsidering how much of the action moved to Spurs’ right, he was a touch quieter with the ball than Romero, but he won a lot of races to go ahead and clear danger. What a strong defender.
Ben Davies: Fivefought to get his way in the game. tucked away, never quite making an impact on the Palace half. Whether he was entirely fit after taking a break at halftime makes me wonder.
Sixth Yves BissoumaBissouma is very off today. A few good moments, but far too many ball giveaways. Not the press-averse guy he usually was. Between Bissouma and Hojbjerg to start against Chelsea right now, there may be a true competition.
Pape Matar Sarr: 7.5 – With his run in behind and cross into the box, he set up the Maddison goal/own-goal. then made a beautiful cross-field ball to assist in creating the second. Always running, yet with such quality when it comes to the ball these days.
James Madison, age sevenSpurs weren’t very impressive today, but neither was he. What matters is that he arrived when called upon and supplied the momentary spark required to end the impasse. Sometimes, on difficult evenings like this one, that’s all you need.
6 – Dejan KulusevskiHe’s not really playing tonight. When Kulusevski’s shot went wide, Crystal Palace doubled up on him. They were quite well-drilled. In the end, Spurs were more successful with Johnson and Son’s raw speed. He was still having some lovely, if messy, interactions with Sarr.
Shin-min Son: 7.5 – Son has been a goal scorer for Spurs for almost ten years, but this season he has a particular aura that makes you believe he will be in the right position at the right moment. Like Harry Kane. become the Lilywhites’ genuine captain under Ange.
Sixth RicharlisonIt never quite worked out for Richarlison again. struggling to adjust to Postecoglou’s wide-left role and squandering quite a few opportunities this evening. I’m sure he can adjust given enough minutes, but Brennan Johnson is already at the door.
Davies seems to offer a little bit less than Emerson Royal (6.5). He is right-footed, but with the full-backs playing so inverted, it doesn’t seem to matter as much. More assured with the ball in confined spaces and defensively covered well behind. Excellent work from Emerson.
7-Brendan Johnsoncomes on and takes a helping hand. Not much more is possible. He will be hoping for the opportunity to start against Chelsea because his speed in behind looked more dangerous this evening.
6.5 Pierre-Emile HojbjergPostecoglou has a legitimate reason to trust Pierre, as is evident. When he came on, he immediately calmed everyone down and used the ball perfectly. Is he able to unseat Bissouma next week?
