Bon Jovi’s Catalog Rises As The Band’s Surprising New Single Climbs

Bon Jovi is climbing up multiple Billboard charts this week. The band succeeds on rankings focused on both albums and songs, and impressively, the beloved rock group doesn’t only claim one hit single at the moment.

“Now or Never,” a collaboration between Bon Jovi and Pitbull, appears on five Billboard lists this time around. It rises on two, returns to one, debuts on another, and keeps steady at its all-time peak on the fifth and final list in what turned out to be a busy frame for the cross-genre tune.

As Americans continue to love the unlikely duet, the success of “Now or Never” seems to be having a positive effect on Bon Jovi’s catalog. This frame, “Living on a Prayer,” perhaps the band’s most famous single, ascends one space on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart. This time around, it improves to No. 16 as it approaches 250 weeks on that streaming-specific list.

All the attention being paid to Bon Jovi—and in particular, “Living on a Prayer”—is aiding the group’s Greatest Hits – The Ultimate Collection in its climb as well. This period, that compilation returns to the top 10 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, jumping from No. 12 to No. 9. It also lifts on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster, but only by one space, as it settles at No. 43.

Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits may only rise one slot on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, but this week is still a special one for the compilation. The New Jersey hometown heroes have managed to keep the singles-packed set on Billboard’s list of the most-consumed rock and alternative full-lengths for 400 weeks as of this period.

“Now or Never” is Bon Jovi’s biggest success at the moment. The unexpected smash returns to the top 10 on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart as it reenters that purchase-centric roster at No. 10.

The same collaboration isn’t far behind on two other lists as well. The tune pushes one space to No. 12 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. It also holds steady at its No. 15 high point on the Adult Pop Airplay radio roster.

Bon Jovi’s “Now or Never,” which reworks the chorus from the group’s “It’s My Life” only now with a dance beat backing the recording, is a top 40 hit on two other Billboard tallies. The cut debuts at No. 29 on the Adult Contemporary chart, landing on the third and final pop radio ranking that the collaboration had yet to reach – until now. It also steps up from No. 39 to No. 38 on Pop Airplay, which is the most competitive among all of the pop-focused radio charts.
