Exclusive: Celtic ready to accept offer for 31-yr-old

Several European clubs are considering bids for goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist, and Celtic are prepared to accept an offer before the transfer season closes, sources informed Football Insider.

The 31-year-old, who was heavily linked to Sturm Graz of Austria earlier in the transfer window, is currently Celtic’s third-choice keeper behind Joe Hart and Scott Bain.

Siegrist joined Celtic in the summer of 2022 after leaving Dundee United, however he has only played in two league games.

Several European clubs hoping to strengthen their goalkeeping options during this month’s transfer window have been made aware of his loan availability.

The 2023–24 campaign has seen the Swiss goalkeeper only once come off the bench.

He played for Dundee United for his final regular season in 2021–2022, recording 13 clean sheets in 42 games across all competitions.

 

Ever since joining Celtic, he has been relegated to a supporting position and is currently completely out of favour with Brendan Rodgers.

Siegrist has a contract with Parkhead that expires in May 2026.

Additionally, he played for FC Vaduz, Wycombe Wanderers, Burton, Cambridge, Solihull Moors, and Aston Villa.
