What’s So “Ridiculous” About THIS Celeb’s Wedding Registries? (Seriously! I Don’t Get It!)

Yesterday afternoon, a sports blogger called out Tony Romo and Candice Crawford for having “ridiculous” wedding gift registries. I kind of don’t know what he’s talking about.

I do kind of want to smack that smirk of Tony’s face. But that has nothing to do with his wedding gift registries. (Also, while I have you here: Go Giants!)

The pair, who got engaged last December, said “I do” on Saturday in front of about 600 guests.

After their big day, Chris Chase of the Shutdown Corner stumbled across the couple’s registries, and was annoyed on several counts.

Chris wrote: *”As if forcing people to make the trip to Dallas on a three-day weekend wasn’t bad enough, the Romos then ask folks to buy them various home knick-knacks that they’ll never use and easily could have afforded for themselves? I suppose you have to get a rich guy something when he gets married, I just never figured it would be a six-dollar gravy boat.”*I’m not sure what the alternative would be there. Should they have registered for things that they CAN’T afford? Since Tony’s working through a $67 million contract, I’d hate to see that registry. (One (1) Private Island. Three (3) Fully Staffed Summer Homes.)

Also, lots of Save the Date readers say hosting a wedding over a long weekend is a DO!

Another bone Chris had to pick with the registries: “On the Crate&Barrel registry alone, Romo and Crawford had 150 items from which to choose. One five oh.”

Um, really? Is “150” supposed to shock and horrify us? I bet that was for her bridal shower alone. They’d need a WAY bigger registry for a 600-person wedding!
