West Ham Ace-English manager now in talks over move costing over £75m – report

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe in talks as move for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta eyed

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has been talking about the possibility of signing West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta with agents, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers-related news website wrote [15 July] that while the Magpies are unlikely to match the valuation for the Brazil

The 26-year-old moved to the London Stadium just last summer after he joined for club-record fee of £50million.

West Ham United

English manager Howe guided Newcastle to Champions League qualification after finishing in fourth place last season.

Tough one

A substantial bid could be made to keep Paqueta at the club, which the hierarchy will deem too good to refuse.

The loss of the midfielder could be too much for them to bear, and they will do everything in their power to keep him for one more year, at the very least.

In the end, Paqueta will be looking out for his own best interests and will see a Champions League club willing to pay a big price for him.

West Ham

He will have seen the Hammer’s failure to keep Declan Rice and will feel that this could be a rebuild that may take too long.

At 26, he’s nearing his prime and would want to play the best years of his career in Europe’s best competition if the opportunity arises.

Newcastle do have the money to spend and if they get the suggestion that Paqueta is open to a move, then they could look to tempt him to join.
