‘Well deserved’-Tottenham star wins Premier League Player of the Month award
The August Premier League Player of the Month has been selected as James Maddison.
Maddison’s career at Tottenham has gotten off to the best possible start, with the midfielder adjusting to life at the North London club after moving there from the King Power Stadium in the summer.
The 26-year-old England international has adapted wonderfully to playing as the most advanced midfielder in Ange Postecoglou’s 4-3-3 formation, and he is now a part of the team’s new-look leadership group after being given the vice-captaincy.
Maddison not only assisted on four goals in the first four Premier League games of the season, but he also played a key role in the majority of Spurs’ successful plays.
Given that Tottenham only paid £40 million to buy the former Leicester City player, he has been referred to by many as the best signing of the summer transfer season thus far (The Athletic).

Maddison has now earned the distinction of being the division’s top player for the month of August.
For Madison, this is unquestionably well deserved. For Spurs supporters, the best is yet to come from the 26-year-old, who appears to be getting better with each match as he improves his communication with his teammates.

Ange Postecoglou, who has led Tottenham Hotspur to an unbelievable start, has been voted the Premier League Coach of the Month for August.
The Australian has had a nearly flawless start to the league campaign, helping Spurs move into second place going into the September international break.
Postecoglou won the top prize for the first month of the season over West Ham manager David Moyes, Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool, and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City.
Spurs started their season with a 2-2 draw against Brentford on the road before beating Manchester United, Bournemouth (both by a score of 2-0), and Burnley (5-2) in a row to close off the month.
Since David Wagner of Huddersfield Town won it in his team’s inaugural month in the Premier League, Postecoglou is the first Australian to ever win it.
It comes just one day after James Maddison, one of Postecoglou’s players, was voted August’s Player of the Month and Postecoglou received a nomination for Best FIFA Men’s Coach in 2023.
This Sunday (AEST), Spurs will play again when they host Sheffield United at home.
