‘We will never let him go never’: Tottenham told the reason why Daniel Levy would ‘never’ let Richarlison leave despite ongoing struggles.

An ex-Tottenham player has explained why Daniel Levy would not have permitted Richarlison to leave the club this summer, even if Saudi Arabia had made a sizable financial offer.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Saudi Pro League Al Ittihad were considering a move for the Brazilian after their unsuccessful £150 million bid for Liverpool forward Mo Salah.

The agreement reportedly ran out of time and was unable to be finalized before last week’s Saudi deadline, despite negotiations taking place through middlemen.

Alan Hutton, a former defender for Tottenham, believes Daniel Levy would never have authorized the striker’s departure, especially after losing Harry Kane, but he still believes Richarlison may be enticed by a January transfer.

Hutton said in a statement to Football Insider: “I don’t believe anyone is out there with what they are looking for.

“If you are performing at a high level in the Premier League, it could be anyone, and they obviously want to improve their league.”

“Even if it was a significant sum of money, I would never have believed Daniel Levy would permit him to leave. Richarlison is actually their primary striker at the moment, even after Kane’s departure comes to mind.

“I would never see it happening. To let him go and be unable to bring anyone in would leave them in an extremely difficult situation.

“It might happen if Richarlison continues to play well and score goals from now until January.

“I believe they will be evaluating every player in the Premier League to see who they can add to strengthen their team.”

Richarlison set for bench duty again

Richarlison joined the club in a £60 million deal from Everton last summer, but in 40 appearances for the team, he has only scored four goals.

And, after underwhelming in his first three Premier League appearances, he was benched for the most recent 5-2 victory at Burnley.

Son Heung-min scored a hat-trick in that contest while playing as the central striker in Ange Postecoglou’s three-man frontline. The South Korean is almost expected to start as the line-leader against Sheffield United on Saturday.
