Tottenham tracking ‘one of the great sensations’ who will cost around €80-100m

Spurs have been linked to a move for Florian Wirtz, a midfielder in the Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old is regarded as “one of the great sensations” of current European football after establishing himself as a vital member of Bayer Leverkusen’s squad. According to a Mundo Deportivo report, his estimated worth is between €80 and €100 million.

Tottenham is not the only team chasing him; Arsenal, a rival in London, and Barcelona, a powerhouse in Spain, will compete with them. For the Spanish group, though, the asking price might prove to be too much. Due to their financial issues, Barcelona may not be able to pay the €80–100 million asking price for the German midfield player.

Wirtz is unlikely to be available for a low price because he is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until the summer of 2027.

The 20-year-old is capable of playing both as a winger and as the primary attacking midfielder. He has the potential to become one of Europe’s top playmakers, and Spurs could use his services.

With the proper coaching and direction, the Bundesliga midfielder has the potential to become a top-tier player. This season, he has produced five goals and nine assists across all competitions.

Ange Postecoglou might assist him in realizing his enormous potential, and a transfer to the Premier League might hasten his growth. Whether Tottenham is willing to pay more for him in the future is still to be seen.

They must also look to secure Champions League qualification if they want to attract elite talents like him.

Both Pape Matar Sarr and Desinty Udogie rank among the Premier League’s top young players in terms of performance, per Who Scored’s ratings.

Given that many had extremely low expectations going into the season, Tottenham supporters are understandably ecstatic about the start the Lilywhites have made.

The fact that the current Spurs team is made up primarily of young players whose prime years are still ahead of them is one of its most fascinating aspects.

Among them is Udogie, who has undoubtedly been the greatest left-back in the Premier League thus far this year. He has fit in perfectly with Ange Postecolgou’s system, playing the inverted full-back role.

The 20-year-old made his international debut last month, proving he is unfazed by the big stage during his maiden start for the Azzurri against England at Wembley.

Under Postecoglou, Sarr has also been a revelation, partnering with Yves Bissouma in the middle of the park to establish a powerful tandem.

Sarr and Udogie show that Spurs’ future is bright

Udogie and Sarr were in third and fourth place, respectively, among Whoscored’s five highest-rated players under 21 in the Premier League this season.

Without a doubt, as they gain more experience over the next few years, players like Van de Ven, Sarr, and Udogie will continue to grow. Tottenham’s ceilings are quite high, so it’s an exciting moment to be a supporter.
