Atletico Madrid is interested in acquiring Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Marca.

Tottenham in the Premier League has already been contacted by the La Liga team about Hojbjerg.

Spurs have informed Atletico that they are seeking a transfer fee of €40 million (£34.36 million) for the 27-year-old central midfielder from Denmark.

That is too pricey for Atletico, claims Marca.

The Spanish team is still interested in signing the £100,000-per-week (SalarySport) Danish player.

Hojbjerg, according to Marca, is “looking for a change of scenery” and wants to leave Tottenham. Atletico is said to like “Hojbjerg” a lot.

Tottenham paid Southampton £15 million in transfer fees for Hojbjerg back in the summer of 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur should do Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg deal on their own terms

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg shouldn’t be forced to be sold by Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window, in our opinion.

Spurs shouldn’t, in our opinion, drop their demands for the 27-year-old.

Hojbjerg is a midfielder who has excelled in the Premier League and is currently at the top of his game, after all.

We can appreciate Atletico Madrid’s reluctance to pay the transfer sum that Tottenham is demanding for the international player from Denmark.

In the summer transfer window, talks are ultimately everything.

Although Hojbjerg has a contract with Tottenham through the summer of 2025, he may wish to depart.

There was little he could do if Tottenham refused to sell the player.

The 27-year-old has so far appeared in 218 games in the Premier League.

In those contests, Hojbjerg has 12 goals and 15 assists.

Last season, the Tottenham no. 5 played 35 times in the Premier League, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists.
