Tottenham in battle with Euro giants to sign £17m star as Postecoglou aims to bolster key area
According to the Spanish publication Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur is still apparently interested in signing Gent star Gift Emmanuel Orban during the forthcoming transfer season.
It was anticipated that Spurs will attempt to recruit a new striker to replace Harry Kane after selling the Englishman to Bayern Munich during the recently closed summer transfer window.
Orban was one of several players that had their names attached to a transfer to the recently restored White Hart Lane. The North London club didn’t, however, formally approach any strikers before to the deadline.
Ange Postecoglou’s team may decide to pick up their efforts to secure Orban’s services in the forthcoming transfer window even though Tottenham didn’t officially declare their interest in signing him this summer, according the report by Fichajes.
According to the report, however, the North London club will have difficulty signing the Nigerian due to interest from Barcelona and AC Milan.

Orban’s current deal has four more years left in it and is estimated by Transfermarkt to be worth roughly £17 million. Therefore, if Gent is forced to cash in, they will probably demand a sizeable sum of money to let their star man go. Therefore, should Spurs officially declare their interest, they will need to spend a lot to secure his services during the forthcoming transfer window.
The African has recently emerged on the spotlight after putting up strong displays for Gent last season, scoring 15 goals and recording two assists in 16 Pro League games.
The 21-year-old’s recent performances appear to have impressed Spurs, who have opted to express a strong interest in signing him to reinforce the assault.
Orban is speedy, skilled at long-range passing, effective at stopping play, skilled at long-range goal-scoring, and has the instinct of a poacher in the penalty area.
The African player is gifted and has great potential. If Tottenham decides to hire him, it would be a wise move to do so with an eye on the long term.
