Tottenham has recently beaten the league champions to the signing of a ‘quality’ player

Spurs have barely beaten Barcelona to the signing of 23-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly signed former Fulham winger Manor Solomon ahead of Barcelona.

This is according to The Athletic, which claims that Barcelona was interested in signing Solomon on a free transfer this summer.

Spurs are close to completing their third summer signing after agreeing agreements for Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison last week.

Indeed, Fabrizio Romano stated earlier this week that Solomon will have his physical at Tottenham on Thursday morning before moving to North London.

According to The Athletic, the 23-year-old will leave Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer this summer after his contract was supposed to end in December.

It follows FIFA’s decision in May to allow all foreign players based in Ukraine or Russia to extend their contracts for another year.

Solomon’s contract was set to end later this year, so he’s now open for free transfer.

Tottenham appear to have pounced on the Israeli winger, appearing to have beaten Barcelona to the punch.

Tottenham signed Solomon before Barcelona.

According to The Athletic, Solomon was getting interest from a number of clubs this summer.

Both Barcelona and RB Leipzig were interested in the winger, but he appears to be joining Tottenham this week.

Solomon impressed during a loan stay with Fulham last season, scoring five goals in all competitions.

Spurs have a plethora of attacking alternatives, including Heung-Min Son, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Harry Kane.

Posetcoglou will need another attacking option after losing Lucas Moura and Arnaut Danjuma during the summer.

Solomon could turn out to be a brilliant piece of business for the Spurs, as he fits the description as a winger who can play on both sides.

He’ll most likely be viewed as a backup option for Postecoglou, although he’s showed plenty of ‘talent’ in his early career.
