Tottenham following 22-year-old with ‘great attention’, Player will ‘almost certainly’ cost €45-50m
According to reports, Santiago Gimenez, a striker for Feyenoord, is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
The North London team is reportedly paying a high price for the 22-year-old attacker, according to a report from TV Play Italy, and they are also paying him “great attention.” Feyenoord would “probably” seek between €45 and €50 million for the midfielder, and Tottenham is reportedly prepared to comply.
In the summer transfer window, Tottenham sold Harry Kane, and they haven’t yet added a qualified successor. Since the England international left, Son Heung-min has had to shoulder the scoring load, but Tottenham needs additional options available to them. Richarlison, a striker for the Brazilian national team, has struggled to score goals on a regular basis and has fallen short of expectations.
Gimenez might show to be a good long-term substitute for Kane. The 22-year-old Mexican forward helped Feyenoord win the league last season with 23 goals. Moving to Tottenham would present him with an excellent opportunity to advance in his development.
The North London team is presently leading the league table after having a strong start to the season. They’ll want to go back to the UEFA Champions League and compete for big titles.
Gimenez is one player they might add to their roster in January to help them build on their excellent start and have a successful season finale.
It’s said that Chelsea and Arsenal are also monitoring the striker, so it’s unclear if Tottenham will prevail in the competition to sign him.
